She graduated from Seoul National University, and later earned a master’s degree from the New England Conservatory, completed the Pinchas Zukerman Performance Program at the Manhattan School of Music, and received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Boston University.

Hyun Jung Kim graduated from Yewon School, Seoul Arts High School, and the College of Music of Seoul National University, and was recognized with the award honoring distinguished alumni of Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School. She later continued her studies in the United States, earning a master’s degree from the New England Conservatory, completing the Pinchas Zukerman Performance Program at the Manhattan School of Music, and receiving her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Boston University, where she also received the Honors Award.

She has won prizes in major domestic and international competitions, including the Sion Valais International Violin Competition, the Yokohama International Competition, and the Moscow International Competition.

She has presented a Kumho Rising Star recital, performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and participated in a South America tour with the Kumho Asiana Soloists.

She has served on the faculty of Boston University, New York University, and Sungshin Women’s University, and was also Concertmaster and Music Director of the Philharmonia Boston Orchestra.

She is currently a member of the Korean Chamber Orchestra (KCO) and teaches at Sookmyung Women’s University, Yewon School, and Seoul Arts High School.
