As an outstanding violinist and concertmaster, he has enjoyed a performing career of nearly 30 years, with appearances across North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and beyond.


He has collaborated with many of the world’s leading conductors and soloists, including Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, Charles Dutoit, Myung-Whun Chung, Long Yu, Zhang Guoyong, Martha Argerich, Yo-Yo Ma, Frank Peter Zimmermann, and Wang Jian, earning their high recognition and praise.


He regularly presents solo and chamber concerts each year, performing a broad repertoire that includes the complete Beethoven and Brahms sonatas as well as many virtuoso works. He has also performed concertos with numerous conductors and duos with the concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic.


In 2013, recordings by the Shanghai Quartet he founded were recognized as Classical Recordings of the Year.
In 2014, his album of Beethoven’s Ninth Sonata and the Franck Sonata received a Top Ten Audiophile Recording of the Year award.
From 2018 to 2023, he collaborated with Deutsche Grammophon as concertmaster on multiple recordings.


He is also active in academic and jury work, having served in 2015 as a jury member of the POSTACCHINI International Violin Competition in Italy and the finals of the 10th China Golden Bell Award Violin Competition, and in August 2021 as a jury member of the Isaac Stern International Violin Competition.
